Page 2 <br />Special Council 11/4/76 <br /> <br />Motion bY Reimann, seconded by Mickelson to accept the returns of the election as <br />certified by the election judges. <br /> Carried 4 Ayes <br /> <br />Clerk Peddycoart was directed to send a note of thanks to the election judges for the <br />work they did at the precincts. <br /> <br />BID ON MAINTENANCE BUILDING <br />Discussion was held concerning the site and location of the building in relation to it. <br />It was decided that a variance on setbacks be considered for the best utilization Of <br />the site. <br /> <br />An advertisement for sealed bids was placed in the paper. Bid opening date was November <br />1, 1976. Only one bid was received from Lyman Lumber, Annandale, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Council reviewed the bid. Consensus was that in checking around and comparing similar <br />building and costs, that the bid from Lyman Lumber is very fair. <br /> <br />Motion by Gorham~ seconded by Reimann to accept the bid of Lyman Lumber, Annandale, <br />Minnesota to erect a pole building as called for in the plans and specifications, <br />exhibit A, for a total price of $10,200 provided the bidder can complete the building <br />by December 10, 1976. <br /> <br /> Carried 4 Ayes <br /> <br />BUDGET <br />Jean Schlueter said she feels citizens are concerned about police protection, a <br />municipal building, and fire protection. People are willing to have their taxes <br />raised for this purpose. <br /> <br />Councilman Gorham said he has received citizen input also on the necessity of a <br />community school program. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox added that the Ramsey citizens living in the Elk River school district area <br />should have some assistance so that they can also utilize the community school program. <br />Discussion on removing the $10,000 for Sunfish Lake Boulevard easement from Other <br />Budget Items. <br />Councilman Gorham agreed with taking off $10,000 for Sunfish Lake Boulevard and the <br />other parts of the budget. He said he knows all the work that went into this <br />budget and is proud of it. He said Administration budget was not raised except for <br />a communications system and additional clerical. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox said the communication system would be a one time expense and the city <br />would benefit from it for years to come. <br /> <br /> <br />
