C/November 8, 1976 <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A Regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on November 8, 1976, at <br />Ramsey Elementary School, 15000 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Anoka, MN 55303 <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Cox <br />Councilman Gorham <br />Councilman Mickelson <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilwoman Oliphant <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Phil Nereson, Administrative Asst. <br />Arlene Peddycoart, Acting Clerk <br /> <br />Mayor Cox called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the flag led by Mayor Cox. <br />Approval of A~enda. <br />Mayor Cox read the Agenda. <br /> <br />Motion by Reimann, seconded by Mickelson to accept the Agenda for November 8, 1976, <br /> <br />Regular meeting with the following corrections. Delete Welsh situation from Agenda, <br /> <br />Add--Citizen Input; Old Business: <br />between Bison to Zeolite. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Bob Yentsch - road easement acquisition on 171st <br /> <br />Carried 4 Ayes <br /> <br />Mr. John Swanson, 6845 W. Highway l~appeared in behalf of Mrs. Vera McGregor to <br />explain their intentions to add development to the truck stop due to the Highway <br />change at 94 which eliminated the diesel fuel business, at the truck stop. Business <br />is down now and they either have to go out of business or redevelop to stay there. <br /> <br />They would like to apply for a liquor license for that location. Associates Architects, <br />Inc., St. Paul, will charge $2,000 to give a drawing as to what they feel should be put <br />into the location whereby they can derive a profit. Before they go ahead they would <br />like to have some indication from Planning & Zoning as to whether or not they would <br />be able to receive a liquor license. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox indicated that they should have an indication from Planning & Zoning or <br />Council rather than spending the money unnecessarily. He said he is not guaranteeing <br />that possibility even if they get approval of the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Councilman Gorham said the City has split liquor, municipal off sale - private on-sale <br />and the liquor ordinance is available at City Hall. <br /> <br />He said the building has to have a dining area of at least 2500 square feet and 120 <br />seating capacity and the principal part of the business has to be serving food. <br /> <br /> <br />
