Regular Council Meeting <br />December 13, 1976 Pg. 1 <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on December 13, 1976, <br />at Ramsey Elementary School, 15000 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />55303. <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Cox Also Present: Administrative Asst. Nereson <br /> Councilman Gorham Deputy Clerk Peddycoart <br /> Councilman Mickelson <br /> Councilman Reimann <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at ~:35 p.m. by Mayor Cox. <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag led by Mayor Cox. <br /> <br />Approval of A~enda. <br />Motion by Mickelson, seconded by Reimann to accept the Agenda with the amend- <br />ment to add to Letters & Communications that a letter of commendation be sent <br />to Mary Hassett, Associate Director of Ramsey Community School. <br /> 4 Ayes <br /> <br />Citizen Input. <br />Mayor Cox asked for citizen comments or requests from the floor. <br />no response. <br /> <br />There was <br /> <br />Approval of November 22, 1976~e~ula~'meetin~'minUtes. <br />Councilman Re'mann gave a summary of the minutes. <br /> <br />Motion by Reimann, seconded by Mickelson to accept the minutes of November 22, 1976, <br />as received. <br /> 4 Ayes <br /> <br />Boy Scouts, Dave Holmstad and Dean Baker were recognized by Mayor and Council <br />for achieving merit badges. Mayor Cox asked if they had any questions for Council. <br />The scouts did not have questions. Mayor Cox presented a copy of the History of <br />Ramsey to each scout and extended Council's commendation for their achievements. <br /> <br />Letters & CommunicatiOns. <br />Mr. Nereson presented the following letters. <br /> Two letters from Congressman James Oberstar. One concerning the public works <br /> act and one concerning a welfare reform conference to be held on December 15th <br /> in Duluth. <br /> <br />Letter from Lord of Life Lutheran Church thanking Council for the honorarium <br />from Ramsey for the use of the church during elections. <br /> <br />Letter dated December 7th from George DeZiel concerning off-sale liquor licensing. <br />Council scheduled a review of the City's position on off-sale liquor licensing <br />for December 27, 1976. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox presented the following. <br /> A letter from Mr. & Mrs. Terpstra containing a petition from residents in <br /> Itaska Heights requesting that the street named Zebra be changed back to its <br /> original name of Beatty Avenue for historical accuracy. <br /> <br /> <br />
