Page 3 <br />December 8, 1975 <br /> <br />Mayor Cox reported on a meeting with Mr. Fricke regarding <br />review of the bridge across the Rum River near Ramsey City <br />Hall. He said tentative agreement has been reached on location <br />of the bridge. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox presented correspondence from Mr. Steffens in regard <br />to the Metropolitan Planning Act Strategy. <br /> <br />Motion by Cox to appoint Councilman Gorham to represent '~he <br />Ramsey City Council at a meeting with other interested <br />fringe communities in an effort to amend the proposed <br />planning legislation. Seconded by Mickelson. <br /> Carried 3 to O <br /> Oliphant abstained <br /> <br />Motion by Mickelson to direct Mr. Steffen and Mr. Gotham to <br />initiate the proposal on the planning legislation and that <br />Mr. Gorham work closely with Mr. Steffen in this effort. <br />Mr. Steffen is to be paid at the rate of $25.OO/hour not <br />to exceed ten hours until the next Council meeting, December <br />22nd. <br /> Carried ~ to 1 <br /> Oliphant voted NaMe <br /> <br />Mayor Cox directed Administrator Walker to write letters <br />to other fringe area communities in regard to the proposed <br />meeting and suggested Council seek support in this matter <br />from Anoka County. <br /> <br />Administrator Walker reported receipt of a letter from <br />Mr. Duane Colegrove regarding his interest in serving on the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />M_~r~ Greg ~ax, Blaine-Midw~x Ail Pets. Mr. Wax said he has <br />been in the business of boarding animals for 17 years. His <br />facility is at his residence in the City of Blaine. He has <br />both State and Federal licenses. Presently is serving three <br />communities on a contract basis. Also provides a service <br />of helping citizen's catch large animals that are loose <br />such as cattle, horses, etc. His staff consists of two <br />full time persons besides himself and one part time person. <br />His service is equipped for street patrolling. He said <br />he keeps dogs for the mandatory five day period and those <br />not claimed are sold to individuals or to doctors for research <br />or put to sleep by a veterinarian. His travel time to the <br />Ramsey area would average one-half hour. He said dogs <br />picked up and impounded would cost the claiming owner an <br />impounding and boarding fee. Animals not claimed would <br />cost the City $2 a day for the five day period. He also <br />suggested having cages at the City Hall for a drop off <br />for people who no longer wanted their dogs. <br /> <br />No Council action taken. <br /> <br /> <br />
