City of Ramsey - Minutes <br />Council Meeting - August 11, 1975 <br />Page Five <br /> <br />Variance Request - Hedstrom Electric: <br /> <br />Following initial discussion, it was determined that this matter <br />should be referred to the Planning & Zoning Commission and placed <br />on the September 2 agenda of the Commission. It involves required <br />variance with respect to sidelot requirements in order to sell <br />property to Grosslein Beverage Company for a driveway. <br /> <br />Variance Request - Dennis Tennison: <br /> <br />Following discussion, Mr. Cox moved that a variance be granted to <br />authorize placement of a garage building at 5 feet from the property <br />line. Motion seconded by Mr. Reimann. Mr. Cox, Mr, Gotham, Mr. Reimann <br />and Mr. Mickelson voted yes. Mrs. Oliphant voted no. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Tax and Service Complaint - Veve, Inc., 14047 Azurite Street N.W.: <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Vevea, representing V~ve Incov~orated, presented <br /> letter questioning the level of taxes on %~i~property and <br />a <br /> expressing <br />dissatisfaction with street and mail service. T~e Council discussed <br />the valuation question with them and indicated that if they felt the <br />market value on the property was excessive that they should contact <br />the County Assessor's office for the necessary forms to request a <br />re-evaluation. With respect to the services involved, it was indicated <br />to them that roads in the Industrial Park area in which their property <br />is located had not been accepted because the land had not been platted <br />and that the Industrial Park owners are therefore still responsible <br />for maintenance of the roads. It was pointed out that the City had <br />authorized basic survey work for a thoroughfare which would service <br />the Industrial Park. <br /> <br />John Sager: No action taken because he was not present. <br /> <br />Special Use Permit - David Hexom: <br /> <br />Mr. Hexom indicated that he had leased property surrounding Lake <br />Itasca from General Mills and that he is preparing plans for 250 <br />camping sites on this area. The discussion indicated that he had <br />not reviewed the matter with either the Planning Commission or the <br />Park Board and he was directed to review the matter with the Park <br />Board on the third Monday of August. There was also discussion <br />regarding the residence on the property and concern that it should <br />be reviewed by the building inspector because of past vandalism. <br /> <br />Communications: <br /> <br />A letter from the Environmental Quality Council noting that alternative <br />locations for a power line extending from western Minnesota through <br />to the Coon Rapids substation were being considered. Copies of the <br />alternative locations are available at the Anoka County Library. <br /> <br /> <br />
