City of Ramsey - Minutes <br />Council Meeting - August 11, 1975 <br />Page Four <br /> <br />Recess - 9'16 - 9:23 <br /> <br />Community School Program: <br /> <br />Mr. Stewart presented a report on the summer community school <br />program and there was a lengthy discussion of the participation <br />in the summer program and potential for budget changes for a program <br />for 1976. Mr. Cox indicated that the community school directors who <br />had been assigned, Mr. Steve Althouse and Ms. Gruber had done a ver~ ~:. <br />fine job and that he had heard a number of good comments on their <br />work. The Clerk was directed to send them a letter of appreciation.~ <br />The discussion covered additional costs which could be anticipated ~,~ <br />for 1976 based on experience in 1975 and mechanisms which might be ~, <br />used to improve the participation through additional publicity and ~f <br />additional transportation. It was agreed that Mr. Stewart would ~ ~ <br /> <br />bill the City for the summer program on two separate billings and <br />that the Council would review the proposed 1976 budget and program ~k~ <br />with a decision to be made at a later date as to participation. <br />It was further agreed that the Council would discuss the question <br />of year 'round community schools at a meeting on August 20th. <br />Mr. Stewart agreed to meet with the Council again to discuss the <br />community school program on August 25 at 7 p.m. <br /> <br />Anoka City Landfill' <br /> <br />Mayor Cox indicated that the operator of the Anoka City Landfill <br />would like to discuss continued operation of the landfill with the <br />City of Ramsey. A meeting was set for this purpose on August 20th <br />to commence at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Administrative Assistant Recruitment Discussion- <br /> <br />Following a discussion of various candidates who had' been interviewed, <br />Mr. Reimann moved that Mr. Don Walker be contacted and offered employ- <br />ment for the position of Administrative Assistant/Clerk/Treasurer at <br />a salary of $16,000 to start; $16,500 after six months evaluation, and <br />$17,000 one year after employment. Mr. Mickelson seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Audit Cost Increase Request' <br /> <br />Upon recommendation by Mr. Steffen, Mr. Gorham moved that the allowance <br />for the audit be increased by $1,200 to a maximum of $3,200 pursuant <br />to a request by the audit firm to allow additional work necessary for <br />a complete and firm audit as a basis for the city bookkeeping system. <br />Mr. Mickelson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
