City of Ramsey Special Council Meeting <br />July 31, 1975 <br />Page Four <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Gorham. <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Resolution was adopted <br /> <br />The Council recessed to conduct interviews at 8:15 p.m. <br /> <br />The Council Meeting reconvened at 10:55 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to questions from the audience, there was a general discussion <br />of Council operating procedures, methods used for giving notice of <br />Council meetings and agenda items, and a general discussion of <br />Council decision procedures. <br /> <br />Mr. Reimann moved that the Council waive its rules of procedure for <br />purposes of continuing the meeting after 11 p.m. Mr. Mickelson <br />seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Building Inspectpr/Assessor/Licensing Officer Employment: <br /> <br />The Council discussed qualifications of the applicant for the position <br />who had been interviewed during the recess. Following this discussion <br />Mr. Gotham moved that the Council offer the position of Assessor/Building <br />Inspector/Licensing Officer to Mr. Robert J. Casper, 10916 Mississippi <br />Drive, Champlin, with employment to become effective August 18, 1975, <br />at a salary of $13,500 annually and with fringe benefits in accordance <br />with existing city policy. Mr. Mickelson seconded the motion; motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Mickelson moved that the Council authorize the Personnel Committee <br />to meet with Mr. Casper and Mr. Pittman to provide initial orientation <br />and an orderly transition of responsibilities to the new employee. <br />Motion seconded by Mayor Cox; motion carriedunanimously. <br /> <br />Local Government ConsultinK Service Contract Extension: <br /> <br />Mr. Steffen reported that the maximum to be paid under the existing <br />contract between the City and LGCS would be reached as of the end of <br />July, 1975. Mr. Gorham moved that the City Council continue the <br />services of Local Government Consulting Service on a month to month <br />basis on the same basic terms as the existing contract but limited <br />to a maximum of $1,000 per month. Mr. Reimann seconded the motion; <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Administrative Assistant Interviews: <br /> <br />The Council discussed the applicants for this position who had been <br />interviewed during the recess. There was informal agreement that <br />additional applicants should be interviewed and the Personnel and <br />Management Committee was directed to arrange interviews for at least <br />two additional candidates. <br /> <br /> <br />
