City of Ramsey Special Council Meeting <br />July 31, 1975 <br />Page Three <br /> <br />development in the vicinity, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is important that the affected communities <br />and the County agree upon a location for such a facility, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Engineer has presented alternatives <br />for the location of the subject bridge and connecting routes <br />thereto within the City of Ramsey, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, studies and discussions among the engineers of the <br />affected communities indicates general agreement on a bridge <br />location and potential connections thereto, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Ramsey <br />respectfully urges the Anoka County Board and the Anoka <br />City Commission to review and agree upon a bridge location <br />and connections therefor for planning purposes in conformance <br />with Alternate #1 as illustrated on the attached map. <br /> <br />Mrs. Oliphant seconded the motion; resolution was adopted unanimously. <br /> <br />153rd Right of Way Acquisition: <br /> <br />The City Engineer indicated that an action by the Council formally <br />authorizing condemnation was necessary to establish right of entry <br />for the project in conformance with proposed timetables. Mr. Mickelson <br />introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by previous Resolutions of the Council of this municipality <br />it was determined to construct and install an improvement known as <br />Grading and Surfacing of 153rd Avenue Northwest (MSAS Route 106), and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Engineer filed a report stating that the project <br />was feasible, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the matter by the Council, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, following said public hearing the Council did resolve that <br />the project was feasible and necessary, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as a part of said improvement, the Engineer has reported <br />to the Council that it is necessary to acquire interests in certain <br />parcels of land: <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, <br />MINNESOTA <br /> <br /> 1. That the stated acquisitions are in the public interest and for <br />a public purpose. <br /> <br /> 2. The City officials are directed to start condemnation proceedings <br />forthwith. <br /> <br /> <br />
