City of Ramsey Special Council Meeting <br />July 31, 1975 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />hearing on the question of rezoning in accordance with the proposed <br />sketch plan be held on August 20, 1975, at 7:30 p.m. at the City <br />Hall. Mr. Mickelson seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Carson asked the City Council to review the sketch plan at this <br />meeting. The Council agreed to consider the sketch plan at the regular <br />meeting on August 11. Mr. Carson was advised to contact the City <br />Attorney to insure that legal notice of the public hearing was <br />accomplished within the required time period. <br /> <br />Industrial Park Centerline Matter: <br /> <br />The City Engineer submitted a letter to the Council outlining alternative <br />methods of financing a location study for a route extending from the <br />intersection of Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Industry Boulevard diagonally <br />to CSAH #56 at the intersections of Sections 21, 22, 27 and 28. Mr. Sha <br />outlined verbally the various ramifications of each of the alternate <br />methods and the complexity of developing a basis for assessing the cost <br />of this work in anticipation of construction by Anoka County at some <br />time in the future. He recommended that the Council proceed with a <br />location study of not to exceed $4,000 to be financed temporarily from <br />available Road & Bridge funds and ultimately to become a charge of a <br />right of way acquisition project to be assessed against the property. <br />Mr. Mickelson moved that the City Council authorize the Engineer to <br />proceed with a location study for the subject road, not to exceed <br />$4,000 with financing in accordance with Alternative #3 as recommended <br />by the Engineer in his letter. Mr. Reimann seconded the motion; motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Industry Boulevard and Rum River Bridge Location: <br /> <br />The Council discussed the need to develop a fOrmal policy for trans- <br />mittal to Anoka County and the City of Anoka as a basis for developing <br />agreement upon the location of a future Rum River bridge crossing in <br />the southeast portion of the City of Ramsey, and a connection to such <br />a crossing involving realignment of Industry Boulevard (CSAH #57) in <br />the area of its intersection with Trunk Highway #47. Councilman Gotham <br />moved adoption of the following Resolution and transmittal of the <br />Resolution to the Anoka City Commission and the Anoka County Board: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, alternative locations for a needed crossing of the <br />Rum River in the southeastern area of the City of Ramsey <br />connecting with the City of Anoka and County State Aid Highway <br />#7 have been examined by the City Council of the City of Ramsey, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, County transportaiton plans indicate the need for <br />a transportation facility in this general location in the future, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Ramsey and the <br />other affected communities to develop an exact location for this <br />facility as soon as possible in order to provide for orderly <br /> <br /> <br />
