The Clerk was directed to bill the attorney of the <br />appellants in the normal proceedure for this amount. This bill <br />will be sent to the attorney for the appellants. <br /> <br />Hematite Church: Report that the church is making the corrections <br />indicated b~'bhe State Building Inspector. The State Inspector did <br />not feel the width of the stairway was important but he felt the <br />height of the stairway should be made 6 feet ~ inches. The church <br />should discuss a zoning certificate from the City because of the <br />change in the use of this building. Mr. Cox said it was unfortunate <br />that this situation came about because of the expense to the people <br />of the church and to the neighborhood. The church should apply for <br />a zoning certificate for the change in the use of this building. <br />The Building Inspector will prepare a report on this matter and <br />bring it to the next Council meeting. We will advise Rev. Reed <br />that it will be discussed at that time. <br /> <br />KOA has a sign just west of Hwy. 56. We will ask the <br />Building Inspector to go out to the beauty parlor to advise them <br />of this matter. <br /> <br />Discussion on municipal site. I~ was agreed that the ~rice is O.K. <br />The location is O.K. The legal description is O.K. Closing date <br />should be on or be ore Sept. 15, 1975 Mrs. OLiphant is opposed <br />to the price of the property. She said we did not have a refer- <br />endum. She is opposed to the location. She does not think we <br />should build a city hall at this time. Mr. Reimann is in favor <br />of acquiring the land for the building site. Mr. Mickelson thinks <br />we should take this proposal. The direction to do this was given <br />at an annual Town meeting three or four years ago. Mr. Gorham <br />thinks we should proceed at this time to buy this property because <br />at an annual meeting the residents of the community voiced their <br />opinion that this is what we should do and this particular piece <br />of land would make a good place for a city hall and the price is <br />very good at this time. Mr. Cox said people have been contributing <br />to this for a long time. The money we have available for this <br />should be put to the best use. This land is available and ideally <br />located, if we are going to have fire and police protection in the <br />future. The cost is only $1,O00 per acre. It has a good road. He <br />supports it 1OO% to purchase the property at this time but not <br />necessarily to build unless we can get some funds to help on this <br />project. <br /> <br />Discussion on administrative assistant and assessor and building <br />inspector positions. <br /> <br />Mr. Mickel$.on moved we interview those who seem capable and narrow <br />it down to four and then present them to the Council on both of <br />the positions. Seconded by Mr. Gorham. Mr. Cox, Mr. Gorham, Mr. <br />Reimann and Mr. Mickelson voted yes. Mrs. Oliphant voted no. The <br />motion carried. <br /> <br />Er.
