This improvement would include alignment on the east side of 153rd which abuts Highway 47. ~'ir~ Reimann moved to set a public hearing on this 1S3rd improvement for July 2t~ 1975, at 7:00 p.m. at the Ramsey City Hall and the City En~gineer is authorized to publish the appropriate hearing notice as well a.~ no-~i-[y ~n writing those property owners required to be notified pursuan-t %o '~he City Ordinance and State Statute. Purcha'~e of Land for ~]mticipal Building: ~,Irs. Oliphant wondered if a :r~':l~ere-[id'u'm i'-~"-~Fi.7~I~[t to '~F~-~-~ a purchase. Mr, Goodrich advised that lto such 'referendum ~s needed. Mr. Gotham stated that the old 'i;owrtship u'[i ~r '[ot~ll meeting had ~uthorized such a purchase. ~r. Gotham advised '[]tat %he committee looked into three parcels of property~ namei[y: (1) Bu]en property which consists of 6 acres and which is offered at $5~000 per acre (2) Curtis Titterud property which consists o:~' 7.3 acres a~d wI~ich is offered at $15,000 per acre (3) the 200 foot fron'~age on Country l~oad 5 which is owned, by Holasek and which consists of 5 acres and w]tich j.s offered for a total price of $5~000. The committee discussed arid -reviewed all of the above three sites. The committee ch. ose s:i-te number 3 because of its depth and that a fire station could be put wi'thin this site. Also a community building here would create a good buffer area for three houses which are adjacent to this property and 'the ]and %o the east of the proper~y could possibly be acquired in the future for City purposes. In summary, the committee felt that the price and l:}~e genera] location of site number 3 made it the best site for · the Ci'[y'~; ,.purp~ses. The committee also indicated that i'c had received le'[ter:~ of commitment from all three site ::'owners. Mr~ Cox said that the proper'-[y wa~ centrally located, had a good proximity to the school for eme'rge~tcy and provides a good buffering for neighboring reside:~ces.
