W. <br />ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303 <br /> <br /> 427-1410 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the'Metropolitan Council and the Minnesota <br />Environmental Quality Council'have proposed Critical Area desig- <br />nation of the Mississipi River Corridor in the metropolitan area; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed Critical Area includes a substantial <br />amount of valuable property:in the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ramsey shares the <br />concern of other governmental agencies that the natural resource <br />of tile Mississippi River should be preserved in a manner which <br />balances the public interest appropriately against the interests of <br />private property owners; and <br /> <br /> ~WHEREAS, the Minnesota Environmental Quality Council has <br />conducted hearings and has'invited input from affected local <br />governments, <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br />of Ramsey, that the attached position statement entitled "Comments <br />on the Proposed Critical Area Designation of the Mississippi River <br />Corridor in the City of Ramsey", dated June 17, 1975, is hereby <br />adopted as the official position of the City Council of the City <br />of Ramsey; <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution and the position <br />statement be forwarded to the members of the Minnesota Environmental <br />Quality Council, the Governor of the State of Minnesota, and the <br />Metropolitan Council for inclusion as part of the public hearing <br />record and for information purposes to those officials and agencies. <br /> <br /> <br />
