Mr. Cox and Mr. <br />Reimann will be the committee to work on finding a person to fill <br />this job. <br /> <br />Recess at 9:50 p.m. <br /> <br />State of the Budget: We are in an austerity program until at least <br />the middle of the year. We went to a full time building inspector/ <br />assessor and our costs are much higher. Mr. Cox said the Council <br />should take some strong actions to reduce spending at this time. <br />We will have to redeem such certificates of deposits as are neces- <br />sary to meet ~urrent hills. Mr. Reimann moved we redeem such cer- <br />tificates of deposit as are necessary to meet payroll and current <br />bills and then review immediately the base. Seconded by Mr. Mick- <br />elson. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Reimann moved we pay the bills as listed with the exception <br />of the Elk River Township bill, which will be held over until our <br />meeting on March 10, 1975. Seconded by Mr. Gorham. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Announcement of meeting of the Council with our legislators and <br />Mr. Charles Weaver of the Metropolitan Council on March 20, 1975 <br />at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Announcement: Meeting on the County Thoroughfare Plan with the <br />Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, Mr. Paul Ruud of the County <br />and Mr. Weichselbaum of the State Highway Dept. on February 28, <br />1975 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Joint meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Council <br />on March 31, 1975 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Reimann stated he did not feel we should have any smoking at <br />the City Hall or the garage on account of the fire hazard and for <br />health reasons. Mr. Reimann moved there will be no smoking in <br />our City Hall at any time or in the City garage. Seconded by Mr. <br />Mickelson. Mr. Cox, Mr. Gorham, Mr. Mickelson and Mr. Reimann <br />voted yes and Mrs. Oliphant vo ted no. <br /> <br />Part Time Help: Mr. Mick~son moved we put these names on a list <br />for part time temporary help at 3.00 per hour, Larry McGhan, Joe <br />Dehen, Ralph Breyen, Warren Harrington and Larry Buchite. Seconded <br />by Mr. Reimann. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />A letter from the County Surveyor was read relating to checking on <br />plats. Mr. Gorhammoved we send a letter to the County Surveyor <br />according to his letter of February 13, 1975 sanctioning his check- <br />ing the final plat before recording.
