Mr. Cox <br />suggested we have a meeting with the County concerning this voting <br />device. <br /> <br />Mr. Steffens: Metropolitan Development Guide: Mr. Steffens read <br />the paper he had,prepared to be sent to the Metropolitan Council. <br />It was felt we should inform the legislators about our concerns <br />with the Metropolitan Development Guide. Mr. Steffens feels we do <br />not know what the guidelines are from the Metropolitan Development <br />Guide. Mr. Steffens stated from the Guide it would seem 1988 or <br />1990 would be the time table for the first sewer out here. Mr. <br />Sha had stated that someone should talk about how much good control- <br />ling has already been done. Past projection figures on population <br />from the MMC have been bad. Mr. Cox asked if anyone had any objec- <br />tion to this paper being transmitted to the MMC. No one had any <br />objections. Mr. Steffens will have the final draft ready for the <br />meeting on Wednesday night, January 22nd. Mr. Mickelson moved <br />that Mr. Steffens make a final draft of this paper ready for trans- <br />mittal to the MMC on Wednesday night. Seconded by Mr. Gorham. Mo- <br />tion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9:30 - a five minutes recess. <br /> <br />Salaries: Discussion on clerical position just advertised, Appli- <br />cations closed January 17th. The proposed salaries were listed by <br />Mr. Steffens in a notation which had been received by each Council <br />Member at the last meeting. Mr. Reimannmoved we accept the 1975- <br />1975 recommendations as listed by Mr. Steffens. Seconded by Mr. <br />Mickelson. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Fringe Benefits~ Mrs. Oliphant moved we accept the fringe benefit <br />schedule as listed in Mr. Steffens recommendation. Seconded by <br />Mr. Gorham. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Computer Data Nanagement: Mr. Steffens presented the Data Manage- <br />ment contract dated January 17th. Discussion. Mr. Reimann moved <br />we authorize Mr. Steffens to contracSwith Data Management, Inc. <br />for their accounting services. Seconded by Mr. Mickelson. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />EEA Clerical position, Applications closed Jan. 17th. We have re- <br />ceived 30 applications. Mr. Gorham and Mr. Mickelson will inter- <br />view the applicants. Mr. Steffens will set this up at the Court <br />House. Mr. Thurstonwill then interview them. <br /> <br />Police and Fire: Discussion on auxiliary policemen. ,If we define <br />the position, we may be able to get help from the County on an EEA <br />position. The County would pay up to $8,000 under the new federal <br />law but anything over that, we would have to pay. Mr. Steffens <br />will get the information on this position and give it to the Council. <br /> <br />League of Minnesota Municipalities: Mr. Steffens urged we join this <br />league as at this time it would only cost us half the annual price. <br /> <br /> <br />
