Mr. Steffens: Metropolitan Development Guide: Mr. Steffens read the paper he had,prepared to be sent to the Metropolitan Council. It was felt we should inform the legislators about our concerns with the Metropolitan Development Guide. Mr. Steffens feels we do not know what the guidelines are from the Metropolitan Development Guide. Mr. Steffens stated from the Guide it would seem 1988 or 1990 would be the time table for the first sewer out here. Mr. Sha had stated that someone should talk about how much good control- ling has already been done. Past projection figures on population from the MMC have been bad. Mr. Cox asked if anyone had any objec- tion to this paper being transmitted to the MMC. No one had any objections. Mr. Steffens will have the final draft ready for the meeting on Wednesday night, January 22nd. Mr. Mickelson moved that Mr. Steffens make a final draft of this paper ready for trans- mittal to the MMC on Wednesday night. Seconded by Mr. Gorham. Mo- tion carried unanimously. 9:30 - a five minutes recess. Salaries: Discussion on clerical position just advertised, Appli- cations closed January 17th. The proposed salaries were listed by Mr. Steffens in a notation which had been received by each Council Member at the last meeting. Mr. Reimannmoved we accept the 1975- 1975 recommendations as listed by Mr. Steffens. Seconded by Mr. Mickelson. Motion carried unanimously. Fringe Benefits~ Mrs. Oliphant moved we accept the fringe benefit schedule as listed in Mr. Steffens recommendation. Seconded by Mr. Gorham. Motion carried unanimously. Computer Data Nanagement: Mr. Steffens presented the Data Manage- ment contract dated January 17th. Discussion. Mr. Reimann moved we authorize Mr. Steffens to contracSwith Data Management, Inc. for their accounting services. Seconded by Mr. Mickelson. Motion carried unanimously. EEA Clerical position, Applications closed Jan. 17th. We have re- ceived 30 applications. Mr. Gorham and Mr. Mickelson will inter- view the applicants. Mr. Steffens will set this up at the Court House. Mr. Thurstonwill then interview them. Police and Fire: Discussion on auxiliary policemen. ,If we define the position, we may be able to get help from the County on an EEA position. The County would pay up to $8,000 under the new federal law but anything over that, we would have to pay. Mr. Steffens will get the information on this position and give it to the Council. League of Minnesota Municipalities: Mr. Steffens urged we join this league as at this time it would only cost us half the annual price.
