- c.1/20/75

dangerous. The Coon Rapids Building Inspector, Mr. Prause, had
checked out the building and stated the joists were broken and
the house could collapse. Mr. Johnson asked what he could burn
there. He was referred to the State Fire Wardens, of which we
have three in Ramsey. Mr. Goodrich suggested Mr. Johnson get in
touch with the PCA about this matter. Mr. Johnson agreed to have
this problem taken care of by May 30, 1975. He was asked by the
Council to furnish us with a letter authorizing our police to ar-
rest anyone found on the premises. Mr. Goodrich told him to post
the property. Mr. Johnson said he would put an ad in the paper to
tear down the barn. He doesn't want to Zear down the house. Mr.
Cox suggested he inquire about selling thebarn wood to collectors,
etc. Mrs. Oliphant moved we require Mr. Johnson to board up his
house by March 30, 1975. Seconded by Mr. Reimann. Motion passed
unanimously.

Garage Loader: It was decided that as long as the loader was not
used much in the winter and that it had a tank heater, that they
would garage it in Wilbur Chapman's barn for free.

Mr. Mickelson stated the Highway Department needed a torch for
cutting and welding. They had a price of $357.00 from National
Oxygen Co. which included a torch,~cart, etc. They could get the
same price from Sears but it would not have the tanks. National
Oxygen wants $15&.O0 for a l0 year lease on tanks. They had a
price of $139.50 for a grinder, which is also needed. If we had
some of these items, the men could do a lot of their own equipment
repair work right here in the garage.

The Berg Oil Co. had delivered fuel oil into the gas tank and then
had to pump it all out and replace it with gas. Some of the equip-
ment ran with this mixture of fuel oil and gas and then the tanks
on the equipment were pumped out that day. We will write a letter
to Berg Oil Co. complaining about this matter.

Mr. Mickelson read the letter from the Minnesqta Highway Depart-
ment concerning the intersection of Highways $5 and #&7. They will
not be doing anything at the present time to change this intersec-
tion.

Mr. Eickelson moved Mr. Mevissen can purchase up to $100.00 of any
new device needed by our Highway Department without coming to the
Council first. Seconded by Mr. Reimann. Motion carried unanimously.

Findings on Rezoning the area south of Highway No. l0 to the Miss-
issippi River from the Planning & Zoning Commission, were read by
Mr. Cox. Mr. Gorham moved we authorize the Clerk %o set up a date
of Feb. ll, 1975 for rezoning at a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. and
to notify all adjacent property owners of this hearing. Seconded
by Mr. Mickelson. Motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Cox read a letter he had received from Mr. Hutchison of the
County stating the depositing of waste sludge from other treatment
plants is not permitted at the landfill. Waste Management, Inc.
has been ordered to cease the deposit of this material at the land-
fill.
