Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Public Hearing to Adopt an Ordinance Amending the Method for <br />Calcnlating the Rate for Townhomes in the Storm Drainage Utility <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 7:52 p.m. in order to <br />conduct a public hearing. <br /> <br />Public ltearing <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson explained the ordinance before the Council was <br />introduced at the last Council meeting and would change the method of billing for townhouses in <br />the storm drainage utility. The ordinance also clears up past issues regarding the direction given <br />to staff tbr single family properties with a business on the site. These properties will be charged <br />½ the residential rate and ½ the business rate until such time as the business is no longer active <br />on tho site, at which time the rate shall be the standard single-family residential rate. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />There was ilOllC. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Strommen, Cook, Kurak, <br />Pearson, and Zimmennan. <br /> <br />The public hearing was closed at 7:53 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 7:53 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmcmbcr Zimmerman asked if the eight unit townhomes would have the same cost as a <br />single Family unit. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson replied the eight unit townhomes would not have the <br />same unit cost as single family unit; they would have the same unit cost as eight single family <br />homos. <br /> <br />Councihncmber Zimmerman noted an eight unit townhome would have much more square <br />lbotagc in impervious surface than a single family home. <br /> <br />City Council/April 27, 2004 <br /> Page 11 of 35 <br /> <br /> <br />
