PC CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A <br />PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In February 2004 the Public Works Maintenance position was advertised. Approximately <br />90 applications were received and a total of fourteen candidates were interviewed. Based <br />on the interview panel's review, staff is recommending that James Moen be hired for the <br />Public Works Maintenance Worker position. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is recommending James Moen for the position of full-time Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker at a starting wage of$16.03/hr, plus benefits. Mr. Moen's <br />appointment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal background and <br />reference checks and passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
