He <br />asked what the differences are in percentages. <br /> <br />Mr. Voss indicated they have not formally studied the parking plan, but there is a little more <br />sense of scale to their plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Ishland stated the code calls for 4'1, which is almost right on with what they have. He stated <br />they have put it to scale and taken a conceptual guess of what the tenants could be. <br /> <br />Commissioner Watson stated he would really like tO see them drill down to keep it pedestrian <br />fi'iendly. He thinks it is a critical piece of the entire development, and Ms Hunter stated it well <br />in her letter. <br /> <br />Mr, Voss agreed. He stated they will be looking for the trail /sidewalk document, which they do <br />not have yet, but will integ-rate into their plans. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer stated at some point he would be interested to have a longer dialog if there <br />are marketing issues. He indicated as you look from the ~ocery store to the northwest it looks <br />like a mall, whereas it was meant to be the center of the development. <br /> <br />Com~nissioner Shepherd a~eed, stating one building that bothers her is the 30.000 square foot <br />store. She indicated they should be getting smaller as it gets closer to the residential area. not <br />bigger. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy indicated on the northwest corner, he has heard several tunes people <br />have concerns. He stated there are three spaces, and he wonders if they may be able to separate <br />them and move the smaller ones along Sunwood. <br /> <br />Commissioner Watson stated he wanted to echo what Comrnissioner Van Scoy said about that <br />corner. He indicated maybe drawing the buildings closer tO Sunwood would help. <br /> <br />Mr. Voss commented they would look at that, however he reiterated retail does not survive <br />without a major retail anchor. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Johnson suggested maybe they could just change the orientation and achieve the same <br />affect. <br /> <br />Mr. Voss asked how the Planning Commission feels about the residential portion. He stated the <br />grocer has a desire to open next spring, and to do that they need to move forward.
