Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and Sorteberg. <br />Voting no: None. Motion carried. <br /> <br />LICENSES FOR APPROVAL <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to approve <br />the licenses as presented: See Exhibit to the minutes marked January 22, 1980 <br />Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Vo%ing yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and Sorteberg. <br />Voting no: None. Motion carried. <br /> <br />TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM GENERAL FUND TO PARK FUND <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson and seconded by Councilman Cox to authorize <br />a transfer of $4,540 from General Fund Surplus to Park and Recreation <br />Fund (221-4552) effective as of December 31, 1979. Council action taken <br />July 23, 1979 authorized the increase in expenditures and revenue in the <br />Park and Recreation 1979 budget. <br /> <br />Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and Sorteberg. <br />Voting no: None. Motion carried. <br /> <br />MAYOR & COUNCIL <br /> <br />Councilman Cox reported on the status of the multi-purpose sports arena <br />that is being proposed for Ramsey. He said the Anoka County Board acted <br />on it today, things look good and they are supportive of the proposal, <br />especially for the underground facility. The City may choose the consultant <br />for grant application as they desire and they indicated that it could be <br />built pretty much as the City wishes. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Mayor Gamec to send a letter <br />to the Anoka County Commissioners who were present at the meeting thanking them <br />for their action and support in regard to the sports facility and a special letter <br />is to be sent to County Commissioner Ed Fields thanking his for all of the <br />things he has helped the City with in the past. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann to adopt <br />a Resolution to be sent to Ed Fields in appreciation of his efforts <br />in helping the City with the following: <br /> Incorporation of the City of Ramsey <br /> Upgrading of Sunfish Lake Boulevard to a first class <br /> thoroughfare <br /> Creation of Industrial Boulevard which now serves as <br /> a major thoroughfare and his efforts toward the <br /> Rum River Bridge Crossing <br /> Actions taken regarding the Sanitary Landfill <br /> Preservation of the old Ramsey town hall as a historical <br /> site <br /> Support for locating the multi-purpose sports facility <br /> in Ramsey <br /> <br /> Page 9 <br />Council/January 22, 1980 <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br /> <br />
