Motion by Councilman Rei~nn and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to <br />authorize the proceeding and interviewing for a firm to do the plan and <br />design and prepare a brochure for the bond issue. <br /> <br />Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickeslon, Reimann and Sorteberg. <br />Voting No: None. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to proceed <br />with the acquisition of the Federal Cartridge property. <br /> <br />Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Coucilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and <br />Sorteberg. Voting no: None. Motion carried. <br /> <br />ANOKA STATE HOSPITAL RESOLUTION <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann expressed his concern regarding patients from the <br />State Hospital e~caping and cormmitting acts of violence. He stated <br />that legislation is getting nowhere, that the State has surpluses of money <br />and they should have a fence around this institution for the safety of <br />everyone. <br /> <br />Councilman Relimann suggested that they put up a double fence if necessary <br />to keep the patients contained. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson and seconded by Councilman Cox to adopt ·~ <br />Resolution No. 80~.6 recommending fencing of the entire State Hospital <br />area for the safety of the patients and the safety of the people on the <br />outside, that the people are fed up with government doing nothing about <br />this situation, that this Resolution be submitted in accord with the <br />actions being taken by the City of Anoka, See Resolution file for Resolution <br />No. 80-6. <br /> <br />Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann and Sorteberg. <br />Voting no: None. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A discussion was held regarding the United States hostages being held <br />in Iran with Councilman Reimann expressing his concern and he questioned if there <br />is anything that the City could do by way of Resolution or whatever to <br />help free these hostages. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Council is to wait and see what happens in view of new <br />circumstances developing in that area with the Soviet Union. <br /> <br />FIRE EXTINGUISHERS IN THE LOBBY <br /> <br />Note was made that there are no fire extinguishers in the lobby and that <br />a hazardous situation might occur during meetings etc., when the offices <br />are locked, therefore extinguishers should be purchased and installed in <br />the lobby of the City maintenance building. <br /> <br />BILLS FOR APPROVAL <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to pay the bills <br />for the month of January with the exception of the request for rebate for <br />Ron West.
