Out of hive active reserves he is now down to three who are regularly active. <br />Some have moved, changed jobs, etc. Some of the reserves became discouraged <br />when they found that it isn't an agency to be used as a vessel for a full time <br />position. <br /> <br />Kathy Schneider made mention of the vandalism being e~perienced by Mn. Underground <br />and Mate Punch and Die. <br /> <br />Chief Auspos replied that it is mainly gas siphoning and this will happen when <br />gas prices are so high. <br /> <br />Chief Auspos reports that snowmobilers are becoming more active, more kids <br />in the street,(underage~ and if this continues they will have to seek an <br />ordinance in regard to snowmobiles. The current State Code being used is <br />ineffective for regulating the snowmobiles. The police will also have to <br />invest in getting a snowmobile. <br /> <br />Gerald Zimmerman commented that he feels the CPR course is very good, having <br />just completed one himself. <br /> <br />~ayor Gamec reported that the City is forming a tri city fire committee with <br />the Cities of Champlin, Anoka and Ramsey. Councilman Reimaran and Administrator <br />Schnelle are representatives of Ramsey on th~s Committee. It will start with <br />fire prevention in the first stage and progress to fighting grass fires and <br />eventually to a volunteer department at Ramsey. The Committee will be meeting <br />on a regular monthly basis. <br /> <br />Ron West suggested going with Elk River Fire Department also. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec commented that the response time, and the amount of fires occurring <br />gives the City good protection from the Anoka Department. <br /> <br />Art Dunn noted that the Anoka Sand Plan is recommending that the entire <br />City of Ramsey be classified as a "critical area". <br /> <br />A~ninistrator Schnelle reviewed the capital improvements budget. <br /> <br />Park & Recreation is in the process of revising their budget and will have it <br />ready in February. <br /> <br />Police personnel should be figured into the capital improvement budget if the <br />City is looking at adding more police sometime in the future. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox stated that it would be hard to add any personnel without some <br />population added. <br /> <br />This area would have to be discussed at a later time in great detail. <br /> <br />Inspection (Building) - This department - okay. <br /> <br />Engineer - This to be discussed in length at a later time. <br /> <br /> SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br /> January 29, 1980 <br />Capital Improvement Budget - City of Ramsey <br /> Page 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
