Councilman Cox said he feels $1,250 for a backstop is too much~ Mayor <br />Gamec said center section is 16' and each wing is 8' for a total of 32' <br />and 12' high. Councilman Cox said we should check into doing this our- <br />selves. Public Works Superintendent Mevissen said the labor is the <br />major expenditure. Councilman Sorteberg and Councilman Cox both felt <br />there might be more interest this year in local parks. He said we don't <br />need the backstop to look that professional, and perhaps we can get two <br />backstops for the price of one if we do the job ourselves. Councilman <br />Sorteberg felt the kids parents should be able to put up the backstops. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann and <br />Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />Motion by Cottncilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to get five <br />Satelites for City Parks. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann and <br />Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox announced there was a request to level off the d~ainage <br />area in Whispering Pines for a field. No action was taken. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said two bids were received regarding bond proposal brochure - <br />one bid of $5,600 and one of $2,300. Consulting Engineers Diversified <br />was the low bidder. <br /> <br />If given the contract, Consulting Engineers Diversified would do a feasi- <br />bility on six or seven park areas and do a design for brochure the bond <br />cost breakdown and print 3,500 copies. It was agreed that the brochure <br />could also be used for grant applications. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Sorteberg and seconded by Councilman Reimann to enter <br />into a contract with Consulting Engineers Diversified for preparation of <br />a feasibility report on park improvements only, at a cost not to exceed <br />$1,000. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann, Sorteberg and <br />Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Sorteberg and seconded by Councilman Reimann to enter <br />into a contract with Consulting Engineers Diversified for preparation of <br />the bond proposal brochure and to prepare the feasibility reports for the <br />park improvements at a cost to the City no greater than $2,300. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Reimann to amend pre- <br />ceeding motion such that the contract with Consulting Engineers Diversified <br />would be only for the preparation of the feasibility reports at a cost ~o <br />the City no greater than $1,000. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann, Sorteberg and <br />Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />Vote on main motion as amended. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann, <br />Sorteberg and Cox.
