Mr. Johnson said a ditch will be put in today.

Mayor G~aec said as long as it will be done today there is no more
problem and there should be no further discussion regarding this.

City Administrator Schnelle brought up the lime problem inasmuch as it
is being tracked into peoples homes.

The landfill owners stated they will work with the residents of the
area and there should be no problems.

City Attorney Goodrich stated in summary that the ponding will not
occur again and the landfill will be proceeding with seeding and vege-
tation growth on the west and north sides of the hill.

Mr. Raymond W. Usher, a resident of the area, asked how much higher the
crown will be on the site. He was told it would be 50 to 70 feet higher.

Mr. Craig Johnson stated the slope is moving away from the west and the
total slope height will be 130 feet.

Mr. Usher asked about the growth on the slope and teh general contour
of the slope and how long it will all take.

Mr. Otter stated the completion of the slope should be in about a year
and a half.

A discussion on the slope contour followed and specifically regarding
the west side completion.

City Attorney Goodrich asked for a letter on the lime cleanup, and the
dyke or ditching to control the run-off. Mr. Otter said a letter re-
garding these matters will be written this week to the City.

Mr. Johnson stated the seeding was a condition of the contract. Council-
man Reimann asked about the feasibility of sodding.

Mr. Otter stated this is an alternative but we have had no bad erosion
on the slope to necessitate sodding.

4) Attorney Goodrich asked about the sliding hill and what could be
done 'to assu~e that this becomes a useable facility.

The only problem was the access to the hill. Mayor Gamec said the
property owner complained that the driveway went across her property.

A discussion followed regarding the access to the area.

Mayor Gamec asked if it could be addressed in a letter back to the City
from Waste Management, Inc., on the access, etc.

A discussion on the access again followed with ~Lr. Otter, Mr. Johnson
Mayor Gamec and Councilman Cox.

Special Council
May 7, 1980
Page 4
