Mr. Victor Hayenak, 15231 Jackel St. N.W.

Mr. Hayenak asked about the projection for sewer & water.

Mayor Gamec said the first area the city will put sewer in will be the industrial
area of Highway ~10, but the city is basically staying away from the residential
areas.

Mr. Hayenak said he has a road down the end of his block which is always in
bad condition because that road was not ~roperly installed in 1972. He asked
if anyone has brought that road to the city's attention.

Mayor Gamec said regarding problem roads, they have probably come in for
petition in the last two years.

Mr. Hayenak asked if the estimated cost is with or without interest.

City Engineer Raatikka said the estimated cost is with interest.

Mr. Hayenak asked if there was one company that did all the blacktopping.

Mayor Gamec said H & S has done 90% of the blacktopping. He said as
far as maintenance is concerned, normal plowing and sweeping is all that
is needed.

Mr. Hayenak asked what the contingencies are.

City Engineer Raatikka said contingencies are cases which include any
unforeseen items.

Mayor Gamec said this particular cost quoted is the highest cost the
residents will be looking at. In case of washouts, the city holds
"x" amount of dollars.

Mr. Hayenak asked if tar is put in all over the city, will the city
say we have to have tar.

Mayor Gamec said it doesn't make any difference to the city now.

Mr. Gregory Smith, 15250 Iguana St. N.W.

Mr. Smith said he didn't feel anyone should have to pay for the paving of
these two blocks because all they are is race tracks.

Mayor Gamec said there will be speed signs put up all over the city. He
explained that blacktopping does not hurt or help the speeding problem.

Ms. Jane Wilson on Iguana St. N.W.

Ms. Wilson said as soon as 153rd was tarred, water came down both sides
of her street. She felt they should have realized when they tarred the
road what it would do to her street. She said she thought the planning
was not good at all.

Mayor Gamec said city staff would take a look at the situation.

Public Hearing
June 16, 1980
Page 2
