COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1) Kangaroo Street N.W, and 151st Lane N.W., Whispering Pines Plat II <br /> <br />Request for Bituminous Surfacing of Streets <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to adopt <br />Resolution #80-61a Ordering Improvement and Preparation of Plans; #80-61b <br />Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering Advertisements for Bids <br />for Street Improvement Project (Kangaroo Street N.W. and 151st Lane N.W. <br />Whispering Pines Plat II). Bid opening to be August 4, 1980 at 11 A.M. <br /> <br />Motion camried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. Please refer to mesolution file for <br />Resolution #80-61a and #80-61b. <br /> <br />2) Riverwood Hills Plat I Petition for Bituminous Street Improvement <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to adopt <br />Resolution #80-62 Ordering Improvement and Preparation of Plans, <br />Street Improvement. Project (Riverwood Hills Plat I) and direct City <br />Engineer Raatikka to review the situation regarding the cul-de-sac. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. Please refer to resolution file <br />for Resolution #80-62. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to <br />adopt Resolution #80-63 Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering <br />Advertisements for Bids for Project 80~14 and said bid opening date for <br />this project to be August 4, 1980 at 11 A.M. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. Please refer to resolution file <br />for Resolution #80-63. <br /> <br />3) Extension of Time Request Regarding the Abatement of City Code <br /> <br />Sections 110.09, 110.17 and 110.18 (Pig Feedlot); Case of Mr. Barnes, <br /> <br />2535 Clinton Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minn. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said the Barnes are present at the meeting <br />to get an extension of the abatement order of June 23, 1980 directing them <br />to remove their pigs within 15 days from the date of the letter. <br /> <br />He said the neighbors have complained with the city about this because <br />the pigs have gotten out and rooted out their gardens and the police were <br />involved to round up the pigs. Also, garbage is being brought back there <br />to feed the pigs and also the odor is bad. He recommended that Mr. Barnes <br />be required to post a bond of about $2,000 stating that all the garbage <br />and manure will be hauled out. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said the bond would be to protect the city so city staff would <br />not have to go in and clean it up. <br /> <br />Mr. Barnes said there is not that much to be cleaned up.
