Mayor Gamec said the property in question is not zoned agricultural, <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said the city does not allow feedlots in the <br />c ity. <br /> <br />Mr. Barnes said he has been in Ramsey for the past 15 to 20 years and <br />this is quite a short notice. He said he would comply with the city <br />ordinance, but he needs some time. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said it is Mr. Law's, the property owner, <br />responsibility. <br /> <br />Mr. Barnes said that there is scrap iron back there that he sells. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich said a person has to have something worth $2,000 <br />to get a bond for $2,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Barnes said he could not get a $2,000 bond. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said this is the second year that the police <br />have had to round up the pigs and the neighbors are getting fed up. He <br />was told last year, but he is doing the same things this year and he didn't <br />do anything about the fence either. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg asked why Mr. Barnes could not remove the pigs sooner <br />than the 15th of August. <br /> <br />Mr. Barnes said he didn't have any place to put the pigs, but by August 15, <br />1980 he could have them ready for market. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said he thought Mr. Barnes could get a bond <br />on his pigs. <br /> <br />Mr. Barnes said his pigs are not worth $2,000. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said it has mainly become an issue of maintenance and cleaning <br />of the area. Mr. Barnes is not the propemty owner, but a leaser. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich said if it is a nuisance, the ordinance has to be enforced. <br />Councilman Reimann said no new pig feedlots have been allowed for many years. <br />Mayor Gamec said there is also a requirements of 2~ acres per animal. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to direct <br />Mr. Barnes to have his pigs removed and the waste cleaned up at the Dan Law <br />property just north of the Ramsey Terrace Park by the 15th of August, 1980 <br />and to post a $2,000 bond by Friday, July 11, 1980. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said the bond should cost Mr. Barnes about $20.00, and <br />he could get his bank to give him one.
