Ms. Andreason said last year they only let the kids out for ten to <br />fifteen minutes and then made them come back in and it worked out well <br />for them. She said it is a costume dance and there would be judging <br />of the costumes and a dance contest. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich said he thought the city's insurance would cover <br />the dance, but City Administrator Schnelle would check it out. <br /> <br />Ms. Andreason said last year the chaperones took care of cleaning up <br />and everything went well. <br /> <br />She was told to get the keys from City Administrator Schnelle to get in. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to <br />approve the use of the fire barn for a teen dance on Halloween <br />and the city will put two satellites there for it. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg and Reimann. <br />Voting no-None. <br /> <br />2) Meadowbrook Estates Request for Final Plat Approval <br /> <br />Mr. Paul Johnson, the developer's representative, said originally he <br />thoug~ the council meeting was going to be on Tuesday and he didn't <br />have all the necessary items with him at this meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Sorteberg and seconded by Councilman Reimann to <br />grant Final Plat Approval for Meadowbrook Estates contingent upon <br />the receiving of the City Engineer's report and the City Attorney's <br />opinions. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg and Reimann. <br /> <br />.3) City Assessor To Discuss with Council in Regards to Residential <br />Valuation Assessments Made in 1981 for 1982 <br /> <br />City Assessor Wirz said there will be a 7% increase in valuation (residential) <br />assessments made in 1981 payable in 1982. Last years was 13%, so <br />it is cut about in half and the year before it was 9~. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said that increase of ~owould not increase taxes, but <br />actually lower them. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding commercial valuations. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann suggested the city not raise the valuations this year <br />being the county wouldn't let the city lower them. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamee said they would have to handle the cases individually. <br />He felt it was a mistake to try to handle the whole thing at the same <br />time instead of on an individual basis. <br /> <br />c/September 8, 1980 <br /> Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
