PUBLIC HEARING City of Ramsey Anoka County State of Minnesota Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Council held a public hearing regarding the Street Improvement Project #80-10 (159th Ave., Ebony, Dolomite & 158th Lane) on October 15, 1980, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15152 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Gamec Councilman Sorteberg Councilman Reimann Councilman Cox. Mayor Gamec called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M. City Engineer Raatikka said the project had not been completely finalized and there was some restoration work to be done. They would be taken care of within the next week. He reviewed the costs of the project. Mr. Tom Collins, 6726 - 159th Ave. N.W. Mr. Collins said the workers took rock out of his driveway and put sand in and he thought they were supposed to put in Class V. City Engineer Raatikka said the project isn't final and he would make s~re that this is taken care of. Mr. Collins asked why there was a difference in the cost of this project from the cost of some of the other projects. Mayor Gamec said there was more work done in this project. Mr. Collins said the contractor asked him if he would be satisfied with Class V instead of crushed rock and they put in sand which was waahed away by the rain. City Engineer Raatikka said they will put in Class V and take out the sand. Mr. Collins said he wanted what he was paying for and what the city is paying for. Mr. Frank Becker, 15921 Ebony Mr. Becket said he concurred with Mr. Collins regarding the replacement of Class V in the driveway. He said he did not get a satisfactory replacement and he called the City Engineer on two occasions. He said what they put in there certainly didn't replace what was taken out. He said there are five ponding areas, one of which was in his driveway. Mayor Gamec said the city has noted his area for repairs and they will be resurfaced. PUBLIC HEARING October 15, 1980 Page 1
