Councilman Sorteberg asked if the people were aware it would cost them <br />$1~ to $20 per month for this. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said they were. He said other communities are looking at <br />doing it on their own and the profits are unbelieveable. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said the contract with them is renewable and the <br />City would have the option of cancelling with them. They want to keep <br />the contract but the City does have some recourse. It is going to <br />cost money before it ~ comes .back. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox asked how ~big an area that %hey cover. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said Andover & Ramsey would just get portions. <br />The committee will designate so many per mile. Ail of Anoka will be <br />serviced. They are looking at 50 houses per cable mile. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reported they said it would be about 2/3. <br />We have had a good response and many people have asked how soon it <br />would be before it is put in. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said this could only be discussed with Cable TV <br />companies at a council meeting and the council tells the committee <br />the way it wants them to vote. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg <br />to adopt Resolution #80-152 determining the advisability of continuing <br />the franchising process. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. Please refer to resolution file for Res. #80- 152. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg <br />to Adopt Resolution #80-151 regarding cable television lobbyist <br />policy of the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. Please refer to resolution file for <br />Resolution #80- 151. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann reported that in the Southwest District, when they <br />estimated their underground utilities, it was underestimated and so <br />it was low, but when they found the real figures, they were actually <br />high. They are now going to go to court. <br /> <br />13. Information Item <br /> <br />It was noted that the City has been in contact with the Waste Control <br />Commission and it appears they have taken CAB out and the second <br />Ramsey connection to the CAB would be delayed for sure. <br /> <br />14. Hazardous Waste Disposal Site Search Area Notification & Land <br /> <br />~isposal Abatement <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said nobody wants the hazardous waste disposal site <br />in their area.
