Councilman Cox said he had already set up a meeting with the Governor <br />regarding State and City Aids and he thought the commercial problems <br />should be brought up. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg suggested presenting the City's views to the State. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said there should be a meeting on the structures of the <br />E.D.C. as an organization that will continue forward is needed. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann noted that the City has never talked to any one <br />from the State. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said the attitude is 'to encourage socialist approach <br />and to discourage private business. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson and seconded by Mayor Gamec to raise <br />the residential valuation ~. <br /> <br />Motion denied. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec and Councilman Mickelson. <br />Voting no-Councilmen Reimann, Sorteberg and Cox. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to <br />raise the residential valuation 5%. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. <br /> <br />The meeting recessed at 9:10 P.M. <br /> <br />The meeting was called back to order at 9:25 P.M. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Mickelson and seconded by Councilman Cox <br />to authorize hiring a part-time clerical person to assist City <br />Assessor Wirz for 200 hours. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes-Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Mickelson and Cox. Voting no-None. <br /> <br />Box Car Zoning Violation on State Highway #10 <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich reported that Building Official Berg had signed <br />a formal cou~t complaint and he didn't know if Mr. Hexom had received <br />it or not. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle reported that Mr. Hexom did not go to the <br />Planning & Zoning meeting and he came back in when it became a court issue. <br />This has cost the city a lot of time and money and he should have kept <br />communications going with the City. Citizens have been calling in <br />with considerable complaints. The City is about three or four months <br />late on this issue. He asked if the council wanted to go back to the <br />Planning & Zoning Commission with this or to handle it through the <br />courts.
