(Construction Proj!ect #80-12) <br /> <br />Mr. Hanson was present and asked if the lot is buildable, could a <br />building permit be issued. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that a building permit could be issued. <br /> <br />Mr. Hanson asked if he combined the lots into one lot, would he still <br />be assessed for two units. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied he would still be assessed for two units. <br /> <br />~. City Assessor to Discuss with Council in Regards to Residential <br />Valuation Assessment Made in 1981 for 19~2 <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec said the council never agreed on the 7% increase in <br />residential valuation. <br /> <br />City Assessor Wirz said the 7~was what the County proposed. The <br />sales are showing between l0 and 1L~ increase. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg disagreed with his figures because he didn't think <br />the actual sale price has come to be 7%. <br /> <br />City Assessor Wirz said Anoka was 10~ and Ramsey was 94.8%. He <br />said he raised it 15% last year. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann recommended 5% at the most. <br /> <br />City Assessor said according to the manual he used the last few years, <br />the City was low and it still hasn't come up to what the sales were. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked how much ~ would it take to affect the tax dollar. <br /> <br />City Assessor Wirz said last year he raised it l~ and the taxes went down. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann asked how the City could valuate at 7% if it didn't <br />come up 7%. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox said he thought the City ought to go with the 5%. <br /> <br />City Assessor Wirz said if the City goes too low again, the same thing <br />will happen next year. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox noted that it takes two years to turn around when the <br />economy is in a downturn. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said the council sent a resolution out in <br />May and the council has yet to meet with E.D.C.
