LETTERS AND C0~VrgNICATIONS <br /> <br />The Council noted the following Letters and Communications: <br /> <br />1. Letter dated December 29, 1980 from First Guaranty Corp. <br /> Re: "Lindsey Farm" property. <br />2. Letter dated February 12, 1981 to Mr. Richard Braun, <br /> Re: Resolution for underpass for railroad at Hwy #47 <br /> in Anoka. <br />3. Letter dated February 1% 1981 to League of ~h/. Cities <br /> Re: ad for Asst. Adm. Asst. <br />4. Report of State Auditor Fiscal profiles of Cities in Mn. <br /> for 1978. <br />5. Letter dated February 18, 1981 to Mr. Mark Ryan Re: Airport <br /> Study. <br />6. Letter dated February 18, 1981 to Mr. Dean Larson Re: Airport <br /> Study. <br />7. Letter dated February 1981 from Governor Quie Re: State spending. <br />8. State Aid Street Apportionment Data. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilwoman Van Wa~ner to direct <br />the staff to write a letter to the State and all agencies directly associated with <br />State Aid regarding irregular population figures. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilman Sorteberg, Councilman <br />Reimann, Councilman Cox and Councilwoman Van Wagner. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilwoman Van Wagner to direct the <br />staff to v~ite a letter to Governor Quie responding to the inequities of state <br />local aids and direct comment as well regarding excessive taxation forcing business <br />out of the City of Ramsey. Also a statement to treat renters as homeowners. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: ~yor Gamec, Councilman Sorteberg, Councilman <br />Reimann, Councilman Cox and Councilwoman Van Wagner. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Discussion: The above motion was discussed and it was decided there were <br />too many items covered under one letter. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilwoman Van Wagner to withdraw the <br />motion to direct the staff to write a letter to Governor Quie responding to the <br />inequities of state local aids and direct comment as well regarding excessive <br />taxation forcing business out of the City of Ramsey. Also a statement to <br />treat renters as homeowners. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilman Sorteberg, Councilman <br />Reimann, Councilman Cox and Councilwoman Van Wagner. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilwomsm Van Wagner to direct the <br />staff to prepare a letter in regard to taxation issues to be forwarded to the <br />Governor and relating agencies to be reviewed at the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
