CASE #4: ELLA BATMAN REGARDING FENCE CONSTRUCTED' ON CITY <br /> <br />STREET ~IGHT-OF-WAY: <br /> <br />Background information provided by staff: <br /> <br />The Batmans have constructed a fence on the street right-of- <br />way to within three (3) feet of the roadway. The Building <br />INspector and the Public Works Superintendent have inspected <br />the situation and informed the Batmans that their fence <br />is on City Street right-of-way° The Barman's would like <br />to discuss with the Council obtaining a variance so they can <br />leave their fence in place. <br /> <br />Mrs. Batman came before the Council and stated the fence <br />provided protection for the children and shrubs on this <br />corner lot and would like a variance with the stipulation <br />to take responsiblity for the fence. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated the fence could be a liability problem <br />for the city and the citizen and stated the Council is <br />not favorable-for allowing the fence to remain, the main <br />concern being the liability aspect. <br /> <br />CASE #5: <br /> <br />RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING PRICE QUOTES ON CITY <br /> <br />CAR: <br /> <br />Councilwoman Van Wagner asked if a 6 cylinder was required <br />in the specifications. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and secon~edb3 Councilman <br />Sorteberg to adopt Resolution 81- 4Q . (See Resolution <br />file) accepting Greenberg's bid of $7,177.65 for the AMC <br />Concord. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilman <br />Cox, Councilman Reimann and Councilman Sorteberg. :Voting <br />no: Councilwoman Van Wagner. <br /> <br />CASE #6: RECEIVING AND ACCEPTING BIDS ON TRUCK AND ANCILLARY <br /> <br />EQUIPMENT (SNOW PLOW, WING, SANDER/STEEL TRUCK BOX): <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg <br />to adopt ResolutiOn #81- 39 (.See Resolution File). Resolution <br />accepting the bids received for the~purchase of a truck cab and <br />chassis for the street department. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilman Cox, <br />Councilman Reimann, Councilman Sorteberg and Councilwoman <br />Van Wagner. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilwoman Van <br />Wagner to adopt Resolution #81- 38 (See Resolution file). <br />Resolution accepting the bids received for the purchase of <br />a dump box and hoist, one one-way snow plow, one side <br />snow wing and one sander with the equipment change from $13,774.00 <br />to $14,416.00. <br /> C/May 12, 1981 <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
