VI. Public Hearing - 9:21 P.M. Seal Coating Gorham's Service Road Project 981-11 City Engineer Raatikka discussed the proposed consideration of seal coating. Mayor Gamec asked for citizen input. Citizen A1 Kemp, 15220 S~. Francis Boulevard N.M., stated the street had already been sealcoated.about 5 years ago. Mayor Gamec stated traffic determines longevity; the more traffic the longer duration, the less traffic, more cracking. Patching expense is funded by the city. Citizen Kemp asked if there was a fund for seal coating by the City. Mayor Gamec stated no. Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to close the public hearing. Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilman Cox, Councilwoman Van Wagner, Councilman Reimann, Councilman Sorteberg. Voting no: None. The public hearing was closed at 9:29 P.M. VII. Public Hearing - 9:37 P.M. Seal Coating Woodland Green. .Project 81-12 City Engineer Raatikka discussed the proposed consideration of seal coating. Mayor Gamec stated the city is responsible for patching and repairing of cracks and asked for citizen input. Citizen John Holmquist, 15516 Erkium St. N.W., came before the Council and asked why this expense could not come out of the general fund. Mayor Gamec stated the City still has many dirt streets and the Council agreed to do it this way. Citizen Glen Hambeschmidt came before the Council and asked why assessment not sent to everybody. Mayor Gamec stated the City does blacktopping by petition only now and the City gets a lot of petitions for blacktopping. Citizen Arvin Wendt came before the Council and asked if the City. gets a lot of bids. Mayor Gamec stated the City gets as many bids as possible and has high estimates. SpC/June 30, 1981 10
