City Administrator stated that they had set up a meeting with the
Lt. Governor Lou Wangberg for October 30, 1981 from 10:30 A.M. to
11:30 A.M. at the Lt. Governor's office.

Councilman Cox - Governor Quie did indicate he would be coming to the
City of Ramsey. We should try and make it a festive occasion.

Motion by Councilmember Cox, seconded by Councilmember Reimann, to send
a letter to Governor Quie thanking him for ~ime spent helping to solve
problems and requesting an exact date that he will be visiting the City
of Ramsey.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox,
Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None.

10) Drainage Regarding Mrs. Colleen Johnson, 7440 151st Lane NWand
Mr. Michael Schutz, 7410 151st Lane NW.

Colleen Johnson - I do not feel the City should install a culvert on
my ].and to alleviate my neighbor's water problem.

Mr. Schutz - Ail water from culvert on Johnson's property and water
coming down Rhinestone meet at my lot and then has to make a sharp right-
angle turn south to the swamp.

Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to
adopt Resolution #81-164 concerning Colleen Johnson, 7440 151st Lane NW
and Mr. Michael Schutz, 7410 151st Lane NW regarding drainage. (Please
refer to Resolution File for copy of Resolution #81-164).

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox,
Reimann and Van Wagner. Voting No: None.

Mr. Schutz - the only reason they are putting in the culvert on 151st
is to alleviate one person's water problem. Ail water from his land
could have been diverted to the pond straight across from 151st.

Mayor Gamec - Even if it is one house that is having water problems, that
one house is just as important as if it were 5 or 6 having problems.

Councilmember Cox - asked City Engineer if there were any other alterna-
tives to the drainage route presently used.

City Engineer Raatikka Could go straight across to the pond, but it
would involve a lot more digging on the one parcel of land we would have
to cross.

Mayor Gamec - We have to take the recommendation of our City Engineer.

Motion by Councilmember Cox, seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner, to
realign the culvert on Mr. Schutz's preperty to divert water at an
angle instead of at a sharp right angle.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cox, Van Wagner,
Sorteberg and Reimann. Voting No: None.

C/October 13, 1981
Page 10
