Public Hearing <br /> Page 2 <br /> February 26, 1979 <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated th6 Council is generally against water and sewer. It would <br />have to go through the entire City before reaching your area. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox then stated we are urging everyone to take care of their sewer <br />systems. <br /> <br />Veryl Noman asked about the drainage runoff for the area. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka stated they would be adding a couple of runoff areas. <br /> <br />Veryl Noman stated the water is running off Carter land onto theirs. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka explained the proposed drainage for the area. <br /> <br />A1 Cremblitt stated that Lots 4 & 5 for the proposed runoff has a three foot lake <br />in back of the property now. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka stated they gould run a ditch to eleviate this. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox stated we could work through the power company to get authority to <br />have the runoff through there. <br /> <br />Mr. ~reyer stated we should deal with the drainage problems before making perma- <br />nent streets. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked City Engineer Raatikka to work with the drainage problem in <br />the area at the same time working on the streets. <br /> <br />Veryl Noman stated last year there was an improvement to the ditch and it lasted <br />through two rains and then all of the street washed back into the ditch. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka stated they will be reseeding the ditch and have class V <br />on the edge and should take care of the severe erosion of Lot i Block 3. <br /> <br />Dennis Donovan asked that consideration be given to a bike trail. <br /> <br />Mr. A1 Heifort asked if there would be some assessment assurance in that we do <br />have to look at a cost of more like $100,000. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated it can only be raised a certain percentage and if more would <br />have to have another public hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Don Carter stated at their present assessment procedure they would be assess- <br />ing 10% against one owner. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated~they should develop the land ~ get the most money out of it. <br /> <br />Mr. Carter stated they did try but the City wanted too much money and had to <br />drop their plans. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox stated they did have plat approval. <br /> <br />Mrs. Sylvia Carter stated they had to withdraw because of the cos~ but did have <br />it approved to the preliminary plat. <br /> <br /> <br />
