One of the items of
concern to the Council was the estimated cost of repair to the AMC
Matador Police Squad for $2,500. A discussion was held on the squad
in regards to either trading it off on a new one or repairing it. ~ It
was the general concensus of the Council that $2,500 seemed to be quite
high for repairs and feel the Police Chief should obtain some price
quotes and present them at the next Council meeting.

LETTERS AND COMMUNICATIONS

Mayor Gamec noted the City had received a restraining order on Faith
Baptist Church. City Attorney Goodmich reviewed with the Council what
the restraining order meant and what the City's position is at this time.
It meant the stop work order was lifted and they could continue working
on restoring the church, however, the case hasn't been settled and any
work they may do is on their own risk. The Building Official is to con-
tinue making the necessary inspections until such time as the case is
finalized.

Mayor Gamec also noted the Anoka County Assessor's Office had notified
the City that May 15, 1979 had been set up for the annual Board of Review
at 7:00 P.M. That meant that if anyone had a complaint on their assessed
value on their homes they could come and so state their complaint.

Mr. Roger Schemer, had been appointed the representative of out. district
to the Metro Council. It was noted a letter should be sent to him con-
gratulating him on the appointment. Also it was the general feeling of
the Council that they meet with him and discuss the problems of the area.

STAFF REPORTS

The staff reports from the City Administrator, Building Official, Public
Works Superintendent, Tree Inspector, Chief of Police and the Assessor
were received and noted. The Tree Inspector made mention of May being
Arbor month and Ramsey's annual tree sale.

Motion by Councilman Cox and seconded by Councilman Mickelson instructing
Councilman Reimann to work on getting an Arbor Day celebration together
for Ramsey and setting up a day for Ramsey's annual tree sale.

Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann, Mickelson and
Cox. Voting no None.

It was noted that there was nothing definite at this time but information
would be placed in the paper as to the days and times.

OLD BUSINESS

APPOINTMENT OF NEW COUNCIL MEMBER

Mayor Gamec announced the Council had received all the letters from those
applying for the vacancy on the Council due to the resignation of Robert
