Ail members have had ample time to review and applications and <br />make their decision as to a replacement. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Mickelson to <br />appoint A1 Sorteber~ to the position of Councilman for the unexpired <br />term of Robert Mull-~r and such term will expire on December 31, 1980 <br />and also such appointment will become effective April 2, 1979. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Reimann, Mickelson <br />and Cox. Voting no None. <br /> <br />It was stated that a letter be sent to all who had applied thanking them <br />for their interest and concern in the position of Councilman. Mayor Gamec <br />congratulated A1 Sorteberg in his appointment and stated that Mr. Sorteberg <br />has been a great help to him in the past. He also stated all those who had <br />applied for the position should continue to show interest and come to the <br />Council meetings. <br /> <br />GROSSLEIN PROPOSED BUILDING <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Coborn, general contractor for August E. Grosslein presented to <br />the Council plans for the proposed building for Grosslein Beverage. The <br />plans are presented include a redwood fence on the south side adjacent <br />to the residential area, assorted greenery, sodding, all off-street park- <br />ing and a 6-foot overhang on street side of proposed building and all of <br />which meet the setback requirements. <br /> <br />A general discussion followed in regards to the south side of building and <br />landscaping of the area. A concern was raised over the area being used <br />for parking and if the landscaped area would be maintained. <br /> <br />Also a question was raised on the outside facing of the proposed building. <br />There were two types being considered and they are as follows: <br /> <br />Metal <br /> <br />South side - 1/3 brick <br /> 2/3 pre-engineered panel <br /> (metal panel same color as Tungsten side) <br /> <br />Tungsten side - 2/3 combination of decorated blocks <br /> 1/3 metal mansord <br /> <br />Masonry <br /> <br />South side - brick <br /> flat masonry block <br /> metal panel <br /> flat wall block - decorative metal mansord <br /> <br />A question was raised on the possible placement of a large sign on the <br />property. It was noted the City does have a sign ordinance and it would <br />have to be adhered to. <br /> <br /> <br />
