Regular Council Meeting <br />April 23, 1979 Page 14 <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann said the amount of front footage on the road should be <br />re-evaluated instead of the set back between the houses having wider lots <br />to allow the property to be subdivided without having roads behind the homes. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg replied that Andover is requiring 300 feet frontage and <br />it makes platting difficult. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson asked what responsibility the City will have over the <br />easements? <br /> <br />Attorney Goodrich replied that the'City doesn't haYe to maintain.the.eaSement~. <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson would like clarificatiOn of'What it cou!~t'be Used fQr, <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the City Engineer is to. check all these'queries'and <br />report at the time he presents the'proposed'ordinance~ <br /> <br />COUNCIL NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />DENNIS DONOVAN - PARK BOARD <br /> <br />Mr. Donovan reported on a survey the Park Commission conducted'to.determine <br />what citizens would like to see in Titterud'Pa~k. ~Thelsurveywas sent to <br />45 families in that area. He presented'a park Plan for'Titterud Park <br />composed by University of Minnesota students under the'direction'of'John <br />Schultz, Park & Recreation Department of'U of M. He Said if this proposal <br />is considered the parking lotS would haVe to be studied for adequacy. Titterud <br />Park isn't favorable for horses, they talked to the Horseman's Club about <br />relocating the horses at Traprock Park, an area more suitable for a horse arena.. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox, seconded by Councilman MickelSon to authorize, the <br />City Engineer to proceed with advertising for'bids for-'a tennis court and <br />ball field at Titterud Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: N6ne. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox, seconded by Councilman Mickelson'to Send a letter <br />to the students and Mr. Schultz of the Park & Recreation Department, U of M, <br />thanking them for the excellent job theY did in prepari~ng the pl. an. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, MickelSon, Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Cox to appoint Dick <br />Swanson for a I year term to replace John Zobava; and to appoint <br />Johnson for a ~ year term to replace Kevin Wolters on the Park and Recreation <br />commission; and further, a letter is to be sent to Kevin Wolters.informi.ng his <br />that this replacement was made due to his inactive participation on the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, MickelSon~ Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br /> <br />
