Voting no: None. <br /> <br />PARK BOARD 5-YEAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET · <br /> <br />A representative from the park department was unable to attend tonight's <br />meeting to go over the budget. Administrator Schnelle announced that the 5-year <br />Capital Improvement Budget has been turned over to the Budget Committee for <br />study. <br /> <br />SHENK REZONING <br /> <br />Administrator Schnelle reported that Mr. Shenk's Attorney is supposed to be <br />working with the City on this issue now instead of Mr. Shenk. <br /> <br />Discussion held on easement for Industry Avenue extension and that the City <br />may want to include the taking of these easements in their thoroughfare plan <br />and take the easements as the area develops. <br /> <br />Street Superintendent Mevissen and Councilman Mickelson were directed to <br />consider this when working on the thoroughfare plan for the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Cox, seconded by Councilman Reimann that the extension <br />of Industry Avenue up to Puma Street be included as part of the thoroughfare <br />plan for the City. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL <br /> <br />Request for authorization to attend League of Citiesmeeting was presented to <br />Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Coucnilman Mickelson authorizing <br />the Mayor and Admiinistrator Schnelle to attend the appropriate League of <br />Cities meetings at Radisson South and the City is to pay the registration fees. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmen Cox, Mickelson, Reimann <br />and Sorteberg. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reported on a meeting held at City Hall on June 7th between Dexter <br />Marston and Ken Peterson, Administrator Schnelle, Councilman Sorteberg and <br />himself regarding the remaining contract for Mr. Marston to update the Compre- <br />hensive Plan. He said one of the issues that had been brought up was the need <br />for a thoroughfare plan. <br /> <br />A completed document should be ready in the near future to send to the Metro <br />Council for approval. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reported that he met with Engineer Sha regarding the City hiring <br />their own full-time engineer. Mr. Sha indicated he understands the City's <br />viewpoint and that there are a lot of small things being overlooked and being missed. <br /> <br />Councilman Cox asked if he indicated to Mr. Sha that there are no ill feelings or <br />reflections on Peter Raatikka. <br /> <br /> -13- <br />Regular City Council Meeting <br /> 6/11/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
