Schnelle
Attorney Goodrich

Mayor Gamec called the regular Council meeting to order
at 7:50 P.M.

A brief discussion was held prior to taking up the regular
business of the meeting as follows:

Mayor Gamec reviewed the outcome of the joint dinner meeting
held with Cities of Ramsey, Champlin and Anoka in attendance.
The fire department, airport and street entrance at Ferry
and Main Street were discussed. Regarding the fire department,
Ramsey is looking at starting a new fire committee, which would
conduct a study on the fire department and prevention measures.
It was noted that it is not feasible at this time for the City
to have its own fire department taking into consideration the
low call rate and good response time of the present Anoka fire
department. The long range plan is to have a satellite station
comprised of the cities of Ramsey and Champlin and Anoka with
Ramsey being established as the first satellite because of its
existing fire station. It is proposed to go from a prevention
program to grass fire fighting and then to a full time department
some time in the future. Having a tri-city fire department will
al. so help support persons on the Anoka retirement program at present.

Regarding the CAB sewer issue, this topic was tabled because of
inadequate data available. Ramsey should have a definite answer
in January 1980 as to when sewer will be availab&e to the Highway
10 area.

Regarding the airport, Anoka and Champlin are to respond within
30 days regarding their interest in supporting this issue.

Councilman Reimann reports that he feels it Was a beneficial
meeting. That it helped to open channels for a better relationship
for these cities working together and getting to know everyone
personally. The next meeting will be hosted by Champlin in February.

Regular Council Meeting
November 13, 1979
Page 1
