They are
interested in using it for a staff vehicle for the Police Department. The payoff of the vehicle is
$600. The vehicle may need a little bit of work, although it does have brand new brakes. The
vehicle has approximately 80,000 miles. If the vehicle is sold the money would go into
the drug forfeiture fund and be used to purchase equipment. If it is determined this is a road
worthy car they would get at least two to three years of use from the vehicle.

Councihnember Elvig reported the recommendation of the Committee was to recommend that
the City Council approve the use of the 1995 drug seized Lexus for staffuse. He does not know
that it was made contingent that there would not be a lot of maintenance needed on the vehicle,

City Council/May 25, 2004
