Regular Council Meeting Page 6 2/14/77 Mr. Nereson presented the street assessing policy by Pete Raatikka for Council to review and said the floodways map will be back to Council on Feb. 28. Traffic Control Inventory. The traffic control inventory has been turned over to Merle Mevissen and he agrees that we should try to do the whole thing on our own labor. After it is done, the inventory will be paid on a 100% grant. The State will then review the inventory and make recommendations. Burning Permit Response. Mr. Nereson said Mike haller has researched the matter and in talking to people at Carlos Avery, they were surprised to hear we are having these problems and feel they have control over the three fire wardens in Ramsey. If they are willing to serv%possibly the City could sit down with the wardens and get the matter resolved. Mayor Cox said he doesn't feel we should wait around, Council should issue burning permits and send a letter telling them we will be issuing our own. Councilman Reimann suggested talking to the fire wardens to get guidance from them. Mr. Nereson to set a meeting as soon as possible with the fire wardens. Letter from Attorney Goodrich addressed to Mr. Nereson regarding Councilwoman Oliphant's pay. Councilman Gorham said at the Januarv Council meeting, it was decided not to pay her. Mayor Cox agreed. He said she never gave any explanation as to why she did not attend the meetings. She did not attend any meeting in November and December and offered no explanation, therefore she should not be paid. Mayor & Council Input. Councilman Muller read the Ramsey Economic Development Committee minutes of January 20th. A public golf course, tennis course and shopping center under EDA funding was discussed at the meeting. Mayor Cox reported on a meeting with Mr. Menkveld regarding Industry Boulevard alignment. Penny Engle asked about the proposed trailer court of Menkvelds. Mayor Cox said he could not speak for Mr. Menkveld on what his future intentions are. Mrs. Engle said she did not feel that construction of the road for school bussing is a factor for constructing the road. Steno for Council meetings. Mr. Nereson reported that he has received one application, two others expressed interest and were to get back to him, but he has nothing definite to date. Mayor Cox directed Mr. Nereson follow up on this.
