Regular Meeting <br />March 28, 1977 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />March 9, 1977, Special meeting. <br /> <br />MOTION by Mickelson, Seconded by Reimann to accept the minutes of the <br />special meeting of March 9, 1977 as mailed out. <br /> <br />5 Ayes <br /> <br />Presented <br /> by <br /> Nereson <br /> <br /> Mayor <br />Cox <br />Presented <br /> <br />LETTERS & COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />League of MN Cities requesting candidates for officers and directors of the <br />league. Appointment will be at the June 9, 1977, annual meeting in Rochester. <br />Suggestions are to be forwarded to the nominating committee. <br /> <br />Letter from Congressman Oberstar's office relating to his trip back to <br />MN this last weekend for groundbreaking ceremunies in Anoka County. <br /> <br />Communication from Department of Commerce explaining the draw~.down procedure <br />and letter of credit on EDA project. <br /> <br />The City received two responses to Resolution No. 33, investigation on <br />ramifications of regional governments. One from Governor Perpich's office <br />acknowledging receipt of the resolution and one from John Clawson regarding <br />the same. <br /> <br />Mrs. Jean James stated that some months ago she asked on behalf of the Anoka <br />County Historical Society for permission to microfilm Ramsey's records. <br />She presented the City with a roll of the microfilm with 85 years of Ramsey <br />history on it. She said the Historical Society has a microfilm reader and <br />anytime anyone would like to view the microfilm they are free to stop in. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox asked if the Historical Society is still planning to take over the <br />old City Hall building. Mrs. James answered, yes <br /> <br />Mayor Cox announced that the city held a groundbreaking ceremony Sunday. <br />He said Ramsey is the first in MN to have the groundbreaking on this grant <br />and second or third in the whole U.S. <br /> <br />A letter in regard to scheduling of meetings for the Rum River Plan, April <br />7, at Bunker Hills activity Center. Mayor Cox said the application for grant <br />is in Washington for the new bridge crossing and he wants to insure that the <br />Rum River Plan doesn't interfere with the proposed bridge. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson said he spoke to Mr. Humout'h and asked what could be done in regard <br />to the bridge proposal and Mr. Humouth is aware of it and doesn't see any <br />big problem with it and will reemphasize it at the hearings. <br /> <br />Joan Thunnel announced that Ramsey Fun Day is scheduledfor May 22, 1977, <br />Saturday from 1 to 5 P.M.. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will offer carnival <br />games and saddle club will sponsor pony rides. She asked if Councilmen <br />would be willing to help in the pie eating and egg throwing contests. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox said the Councilmen would have to make individual commitments <br />but they could advertise a meeting and meet as a group to organize to help <br />with the contests. <br /> <br /> <br />
