N rth Metro <br />Mayors <br />North Metro Mayors Association 2016 Legislative Action Plan <br />Transportation System Improvements <br />Transportation Funding <br />• Work with the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation, legislative leadership and <br />transportation committees, Governor's <br />administration, Metropolitan Council, Minnesota <br />Transportation Alliance and key congressional <br />members and staff to secure increased transportation <br />funding as recommended by the Governor's <br />Transportation Finance Advisory Committee. <br />North Metro Highway Construction Projects <br />• Assist Champlin to secure funding to reconstruct <br />Trunk Highway 169 from Hayden Lake Road to the <br />Anoka/Champlin bridge over the Mississippi River. <br />• Assist Coon Rapids and Anoka to secure funding to <br />construct third lanes on Trunk Highway 10 between <br />Hanson Boulevard and 7th Avenue in Anoka. <br />• Assist Ramsey and Anoka to secure funding to <br />construct all recommended Trunk Highway 10 <br />Access Planning Study improvements. <br />• Work with Maple Grove and surrounding <br />communities, the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation and the Metropolitan Council to <br />resolve area transportation system improvement <br />issues, including completion of Trunk Highway 610. <br />• Work with Brooklyn Center, the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan <br />Council to resolve Trunk Highway 252 transportation <br />system safety and congestion issues. <br />Assist the North Metro I -35W Corridor Coalition <br />in securing funding for implementation of <br />recommendations of the Managed Lane Study <br />between Minneapolis and Forest Lake. <br />North Metro Intersection <br />Improvement Projects <br />Work with Blaine to support efforts to provide <br />significant capacity enhancements to Trunk Highway <br />65 including upgrading major intersections along the <br />Trunk Highway 65 corridor. <br />Transportation Advocacy <br />Work to secure funding to rename Old Highway 10/ <br />Ramsey County Road 10 roadway through Mounds <br />View to Northtown Boulevard and instal! new signage. <br />Work to secure funding for Mounds View soundwall <br />along Trunk Highway 10 at I -35W. <br />• Work to secure funding for New Brighton soundwall <br />along I -35W. <br />• Support efforts to build a Trunk Highway 65 coalition. <br />• Support efforts to build a Trunk Highway 10 coalition. <br />• Work to secure wayfinding signage on recent road <br />improvements to assist motorists in navigating to <br />Osseo. <br />• Obtain street/roadway improvements at Highway <br />169 and County Road 81 within the Osseo boundary <br />that reflect the character of Osseo. <br />• Work to improve bike/pedestrian access between <br />Osseo and neighboring communities. <br />• Work with Blaine and the National Sports Center to <br />resolve traffic issues related to 105th Avenue in Blaine. <br />Rail Crossings and Rail Safety <br />• Support funding for modernization and separation <br />cif rail -vehicle traffic as a critical matter of public <br />safety and congestion relief in the North Metro. <br />www.NorthMetroMayors.org <br />
