Regular Meeting
April 25, 1977
Page 2

Presented
by
~ereson

~!r. Vidrine explained that there are about seven different kinds of wetlands
that apply to the City of Ramsey out of a total of eight categories. A model
ordinance was also included in his presentation telling how these areas could
be used. A map showing the wetlands areas was also presented.

Mayor Cox asked what the advantage of Mr. Vidrine's map was over the wetlands
map that the city hall now has. Mr. Vidrine said that they used that map as
a base an~ refined it by going into the field and rechecking it. The other
map was done several years ago and some of the areas have changed now.

Mayor Cox asked for a copy of the map for the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Received today the Critical Rivers Assessment from the Metropolitan Council.
Mr. Nereson indicated that he will review it with the City Attorney and
report back to the Council.

Mayor Cox made the statement that he believes communication is a vital thing
to this community, and he felt that there was an extremely negligent method
of reporting in the newspaper.

He specifically made mention of the recent city hall ground breaking and the
inadequate coverage which was provided in the Ramsey reporting.

Mayor Cox also indicated that the newspaper reports identify councilpersons
missing from meetings or who are late for meetingsl however, no mention was
ever made of the absence of a former councilperson who missed two months of
meetings.

~ayor Cox also pointed out that there are misspellings of coancilperson's
names. The reporter apologized.

Harold Hall and Leon Fisher own land adjacent to the new city hall site and
are willing to sell 7.6 acres for $5,000.00 an acre, total $38,000.00 cash.
This offer expires July-1. Buyer assumes cost of survey. Leon Fisher feels
that the city hall site proposed now has ruined the neighborhood.

Mayor Cox said that this could be put on the Agenda for review in May.

REPORTS

Bu~ding Report

The Building Report was read by Mr. Nereson.

Street Repor~

The Street Report was read by Mr. Nereson._' The City of Anoka is having a
surplus equipment sale on May 6.
