Public ~{earing <br />September 26, 1977 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Capital ~mprovements for park development or park acquisition comes from <br />money budgeted and park dedication. <br /> <br />]t was decided to reduce the equipment budget for the Park Department. <br /> <br />In reference to the salary schedule, Yr. Nereson received information that <br />the 320, the lease bargaining unit, would settle at a 1978 salary of $1,500.00 <br />per month, top patrol. <br /> <br />Councilman Gamec said that the subcommittee feels that the matter of sale, ties <br />should be a Council decision and not a subcommittee decision. The consensus <br />of the Council is to propose an ordinance amending the salries from ~2,200.00 <br />a year to ~3,000.00 a year for the mayor, and fro~ ~1,800.00 a year to 22,500.00 <br />a year for the Council members. <br /> <br />Jim ~;tewart was present and explained the funding for the community school. <br />Fayor Cox expressed his concern about the program involving adults, Council- <br />man t~eimann raised questions about the duplication of courses in the different <br />communities, Councilman ~'uller asked about the types of courses offered, <br />Councilman Gamec expressed a desire for a better working relationship between <br />the school and community, and Councilman yicketson said. he would like to see <br />the school succeed but geared to the youth of the co~m~unity. Mr. Stewart <br />responded to the questions.
