George Ziegler came in. <br />Fe was seeking approval on his final plat for High Point, but was not scheduled <br />on the Agenda. It was the consensus of the Council to wait and review this <br />after getting and reviewing the Engineer's report. <br /> <br />~r. _~'~ereson read a letter from Paul Ruud of Anoka County Oepartment of Fighways <br />reffarding County Road 56 saying that the improvements to County Road 57 and <br />Industry Boulevard would benefit the City in serving its needs, b*e felt th, at <br />at this time County Road 56 does not seem to warrant as much attention as the <br />other areas. <br /> <br />~:'r. ~!ereson read correspondence from the Office of Congressman James !.. Oberstar <br />announcing that he will be holding ten open meetings during the next four weeks <br />to hear what the people of the Eighth ,District are thinking regarding the Con- <br />_~ress and the entire ~-'ederal Government. Mayor Cox said that. someone should <br />plan to attend and that some prepared statement and c~ment~:, should be <br /> <br />?r. l~,.ereson read a memo from Joan Thunell reporting on the October 20th <br />District ll Advisory Council I,.-eet5ng. <br /> <br />ir. I<ereson read a letter from citizens living on Rivlyn Avenue N.W. in Ramsey <br />expressing their discontentment with the Grosslein fence. ~'ayor Cox sa5d a <br />letter should be prepared and sent to the citizens indicating that the Council <br />feels that Grosslein's screening is very adequate. Councilman Gamec su?igested <br />that it could be pointed out that the trees in the future will provide even <br />~or~ screening. <br /> <br />OlD BUSIr,:ESS <br /> <br />]. [!owers Orive Informational Response <br /> <br />Yayor Cox reminded everyone that Fr. ?ereson had mailed a letter out to the <br />citizens 5.n 'the area to get their feelings about upgrading the street. <br />~'ereson said he received response from about 75 percent of the people arid that <br />the majority ,ms definitely in objection to improving the road indicat5pg that <br />they were satisfied with the condition of the road. Fe said he received no <br />response s~ring that they would like to see the improvement in any way. Nr. <br />1,:ereson indicated that a letter would be sent to the people saying that the <br />City appreciated their response and let them know the results of the survey. <br /> <br />2. Off Sale Liquor Issue <br /> <br />I,.r. !,iereson read a report of findings concerning the "off sale" liquor ldcense <br />subject put together by the subcommittee for "off sale" liquor license. There <br />was discussion about such things as a size stipulation, a possible need for an <br />eligibilit:f requirement, and if the establishment should be licensed for both <br />on sale and off sale together. It was the consensus of the Council that an <br />off sale liquor license ordinance be prepared in a very simple draft so that <br />it can be reviewed and looked at by the Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
