COUNCIL 3/13/78 (2) <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson read a letter addressed to Mayor Cox from Mr. Bob <br />Hutchinson announcing a meeting Wednesday, March 22, 1978, on the <br />Alternative Waste Management Study undertaken by the Metropolitan <br />Waste Control Commission at Room A, Bunker Park Activity Building, <br />Bunker Prairie. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson read a letter addressed to Mayor Cox from Commissioner <br />Ed Fields announcing that Anoka County is offering Ramsey the oppor- <br />tunity to purchase voting machines for use in their elections. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson read a letter addressed to Mayor Cox'from Congressman <br />Oberstar discussing the importance of keeping current on all State <br />and Federal Assistance Programs making sure Ramsey gets its fair <br />share. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson also read a letter addressed to Mr. Cox from Senator <br />Muriel Humphrey thanking Mayor Cox for his letter regarding surplus <br />fire equipment and stated that she will be in further touch with <br />Mayor Cox again regarding this. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson read a letter to Mayor Cox from Nelson-Rudie and Assoc. <br />asking the City to reconsider their position on Change Order No. 7 <br />which was for the addition of sewage pumps to the waste water system. <br />The Council directed Mr. Nereson to respond to them in a letter <br />indicating that Ramsey's position has not changed on the Change Order. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br /> <br />1. Final Plat - Reilley Estates - Withdrawn from the Agenda. <br /> <br />2. Resolution - Ramsey Industrial Airport Feasibility <br /> <br />MOTION by Reimann, seconded by Gamec to oass Resolution 78'5 in <br />regards to the feasibility study on the airport which results <br />in no cost to the City. ~he State will pick up $4,400.00, Industrial <br />Park people will pick up $1,100.00 for a total of $5,500.00. 3 Ayes <br /> <br />3. Critical Rivers and Land Planning Act Contract Action <br /> <br />A general discussion was held relative to the timing of necessary <br />work and a consultant contract for the critical rivers and land <br />planning act requirements. Mr. Nereson indicated he was aware of <br />the Council's skepticism for continued planning; however, urged the <br />Council to consider action in the near future to insure a proper <br />time table can be met. It was decided to table this matter. <br /> <br />4. Planning and Zoning Recommendations <br /> <br />a. R. C. Beauchaine, Variance Request <br /> <br />MOTION by Reimann, seconded by Gamec to grant a variance to Mr. <br />Beauchaine with the stiuplations that only one building permit <br />be issued for the new parcel plus the parcels already owned by <br />Mr. Rosenstiel as shown on Certificate of Survey on file and the <br />subdivision is subject to park dedication fees. <br /> <br />3 Ayes <br /> <br /> <br />
