Council 4/10/78
Page 2

highway right-of-way and 66 feet city easement for roadway purposes.
It was the intent of the City when acquiring the 66 feet right-of-way
that it may be necessary sometime in the future to construct a ser-
vice road system along subject parcel and parcels to the north. The
development now existing and proposed would not require a service
road so the developers are asking to vacate 24 feet of the City ease-
ment.

Mr. Bob Gfroerer, 16810 Quicksilver Street, asked what the vacation of
easement was for. Mr. Nereson explained that it will allow the State
Bank of Anoka additional room for construction of drive-in facilities
at the proposed branch bank scheduled for this parcel of land.

MOTION by Reimann, seconded by Gamec to conclude public hearing. Four
ayes, Muller abstained.

CITIZEN INPUT:

Mr. Bob Gfroerer, 16810 Quicksilver Street, gave some pictures to the
Council in regards to the Klemish Addition and asked how he can operate
a business in a residential area. He said Mr. Klemish is expanding his
business by putting up another pole barn without notifying neighbors
within 300 feet of the structure. He said that the red pole barn in
one of the pictures was only seven feet from his lot line. He also com-
plained about the debris attracting skunks.

Mrs. Pat Carroll, 5953 - 169th Lane, said she has the same complaint
and said she feels with the taxes they are paying should have better
scenery.

Ms. Cheryl Stanek, 6061 - 169th, said she moved in not long ago and was
concerned about the business he was operating and wondered what it will
bring in the future.

Klemish discussion was added to the Agenda as Item #7.

LETTERS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

Mr. Nereson read a letter from Mrs. Muriel Humphrey regarding rural
community fire protection which included additional information about
applying for state grants to possibly obtain some equipment. Mr.
Nereson said he feels it is valuable information and should be brought
up with the Committee that is going to study the tri-city plan.

Mr. Nereson read a letter from the Law Enforcement Training Office
of the Anoka County Court House announcing a severe weather seminar
to be held on April 20, 1978, 9:00, at the Bunker Hill Activity Center.
Mr. Nereson suggested that someone from the Ramsey Police Department
attend and Mayor Cox asked that this information be forwarded to the
Police Department.
